Two girls and an adult missing since a huge explosion tore through a Nebraska biofuels plant are confirmed dead, officials said Wednesday, as firefighters were still battling smoke and flames smoldering in the wreckage nearly a day later.

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Fire Department put out multiple fires across Decatur last night.

Firefighters responded to a shed on fire on South Illinois Street around 11 p.m. DFD says the fire was quickly put out.

While dealing with the shed fire, another fire was reported at North 34th Street around 11:30 p.m. Firefighters found a house on fire with a large part of the floor collapsed into the basement.

It took crews about three hours to put it out. The house was vacant and undergoing renovations.

Both fires are still under investigation. It is unknown if fireworks were the cause of either fire.

DFD also says they put out several small dumpster and garbage fires throughout the night, including one that damaged the outside of a home.
