CHICAGO, Ill. (WAND) - Gov. JB Pritzker is demanding answers and accountability from President Donald Trump and his administration regarding federal deployments geared toward improving public safety.
The Office of the Governor said in a press release Tuesday that the administration is "keeping the public in the dark" and "undermining" trust in law enforcement.
The release listed questions that Pritzker wants the Trump administration to answer, and a few of them are as follows:
- "What is the planned timeline for Operation Midway Blitz?"
- "Should Illinois residents carry their birth certificates or passports with them to ensure they are not inappropriately detained or disappeared?"
- "Where are recently detained individuals being held?"
- "What kind of training do federal agents receive on how to avoid racial profiling and respect due process?"
The full list of questions are available in the full release online.
