SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Springfield residents can soon buy alcohol during tournaments and events at the Scheels Sports Complex.Â
Springfield City Council approved a new class of liquor licenses for the sports park Tuesday night, called Class P.
Vendors will be able to sell beer, wine and liquor during designated hours.Â
The Legacy Pointe Sports Complex owners must still formally apply for this liquor license and have it approved.Â
It would also allow the park to serve drinks if it's rented out for weddings, banquets, or other events.Â
