SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND)- Illinois State Police are investigating after a vehicle was found abandoned in the Sangamon River. The Springfield Fire Department said a man was fishing Saturday morning, when he spotted a car in the Sangamon River.
The Springfield Fire Department found the car under the I-72 bridge over the Sangamon river, just south of Riverton.
The vehicle was pulled from the water and no one was found inside.
ISP in investigating how and why the vehicle was in the river.
