URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - "There's no other way to describe it. It's been horrific..." said Mayor of Urbana Diane Marlin.
With two shootings in the city, just hours apart, Marlin speaks out sharing thoughts on the violence.
"Problems like this began long before someone calls the police." she explained. Although the investigation is still underway, Marlin points out the recent data she sees in Urbana. "Our data is showing that these domestic incidents are the number one calls for service in Urbana. And that's what we need to focus on. And we need to look at the programs and services available."

As the search continues for the suspects, Marlin is grieving with her city. She hopes to provide support and resources, in the coming days.
"Urbana is a small city. Everybody knows everybody, so it impacts everybody..." she said. "We can all feel this! People are grieving right now. They're going to need support. They're going to need help. They're going to need to know that people care."
