CENTRAL ILLINOIS-- Chief Meteorologist JC Fultz says temperatures are forecast to reach into the middle 90s this weekend, with heat index values topping out near 100. Heat can be deadly with you don't take the proper precautions. It's important to hydrate before you head outdoors and continue to hydrate while outdoors.
 You need to know the warning signs your body is giving you when it comes to heat exhaustion vs heat stroke.Â
Heat Exhaustion Signs:
Faint/Dizzy
Excessive Sweating
Cool, Pale, Clammy Skin
Nausea or Vomiting
Rapid/Weak Pulse
Muscle Cramps
What to do:
-Get to cooler, air conditioned place quickly
-Drink water if conscious
-Take cool shower or use cold compresses
Heat Stroke Signs:Â
Throbbing headache
No Sweating
Body Temperature above 103
Red, hot, dry skin
Nausea or Vomiting
Rapid/Strong Pulse
May lose consciousness
What to do:Â
-CALL 911!!!!
-Take immediate action to cool the person until help arrives
