CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - A man has been charged with setting a house fire while people were inside.Â
Charleston police and the Charleston Fire Department were called to the 700 block of 11th St. for a fire Monday at 6:30 a.m.Â
Everyone got out before the fire department arrived.Â
Crews were able to get the fire, which was in a room in the back of the house, put out by 6:42 a.m.
One person suffered minor injuries from the fire, but they refused medical treatment.Â
Police and fire investigators said they determined the fire was intentionally set following a domestic dispute between 20-year-old Daniel J. Hernandez and other residents of the home.Â
Hernandez was arrested for Aggravated Arson (persons present). Police said he fought with officers before being detained.Â
He is held at the Coles County Jail.Â
