CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A controlled burn spread and caught a man on fire.
The News Gazette reports the man suffered serious burns Wednesday at a rural property between Champaign and Mahomet.
Emergency crews were called to the 4800 block of Bloomington Rd.
The man was burning brush when the flames spread to his body.
The man suffered second and third degree burns to his hands, face and back. He was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter.
There is no word yet on his condition.
