SPRINGFIELD – A free educational seminar on valvular heart disease will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, in the Wedeberg Conference Center at Memorial Medical Center.
SIU HealthCare physician Christina Vassileva, M.D., will address what valvular heart disease is, symptoms and treatments, including minimally invasive surgical procedures. Those attending will also learn about the introduction of Memorial's Center for Valvular Heart Disease and can receive free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings.
The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the hospital's visitor parking lots across from the main entrance at Miller and First streets. Valet parking is also available. Â Light refreshments will be served.
