CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — A convicted felon was arrested on Friday for possession of multiple guns and drug charges, in Champaign by the Champaign County Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division with the assistance of U.S. Marshals.
Around 9:50 a.m. on November 15, law enforcement conducted a search warrant off of E County Road 400N in Raymond Township after receiving information that a convicted felon, Tyler Abbott, had multiple guns. Detectives said during the search, they found numerous handguns, rifles, and shotguns, and one of the shotguns was modified, as well as two assault rifles and a cache of ammunition.
Abbott is charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, armed violence, possession of cannabis 30-100 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In April 2025, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for  felon in possession of a firearm.
