Costco wagon recall

(NBC CHICAGO) — Costco recalled a popular item used by parents because of potential safety risks posed to children.

In a letter sent to Costco members Thursday, the company announced Olympia Tools International, Inc. recalled its PACK-N-STROLL Folding Utility Wagon in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Due to a risk of a child's head becoming trapped between an opening of the wagon's utility tray and its sidewall and the lack of a restraint system posing a fall risk to children, the wagon does not meet federal safety standards for use with children, the letter stated.

Though the wagon appears similar to many used by parents to cart their kids and other necessities around, Costco's letter states the "item was not marketed for use by children," though "it may be mis-used in that manner."

Costco advised customers with the wagon to stop using it immediately and return it for a full refund.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact Olympia Tools International, Inc. at 866-461-8665 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
