JACKSONVILLE – Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries is launching a new retail concept in Jacksonville next week.
The Goodwill Outlet Store in Jacksonville will have its grand opening on September 6. It will be located on 211 Capitol Way and feature Goodwill’s overstock of linens and textiles, housewares, books, electronics and other donated goods that did not sell at the Goodwill’s retail stores.
Licensed resellers and the public can purchase these items in bulk at 99 cents per pound.
Sharon Durbin, CEO of Land of Lincoln Goodwill, says this new concept will provide customers with exceptional value, even greater than the non-profit’s typical retail stores.
“The Outlet Store will be full of merchandise that did not move fast enough in our retail locations, so we’d rather sell them for pennies than salvage them. The revenues generated will go directly to our mission, providing jobs and employment training for individuals in our local communities,” Durbin explains.
“This gives our community one last chance to get some real deals for pennies on the dollar,” Outlet Store manager, Sandra Westfall adds.
The new store will be open Tuesday through Thursday for licensed resellers only by appointment, 9 AM to 3:30 PM, and open to the public on Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Licensed resellers must apply for membership in the Goodwill Outlet Store in advance here.
