DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — There's a new meeting spot for those 60 and up hoping to share a meal with some friends.

The Decatur Macon County Senior Center Meals on Wheels Congregate location has merged with the Decatur Park District.

On Wednesday, residents aged 60+ met at the new location at the Scovill Activity Center located at 3909 W. Main Street in Decatur.

To the coordinators of the program, the sense of community is just as important as the meal.

"I just love the fact that we are building community. We celebrate birthdays monthly, we invite guest speakers to come and share. We make things fun," said Kim Freund, Meals on Wheels Supervisor.
