Newly remodeled urgent care for mental health unveiled in Decatur

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A one-of-a-kind urgent care center will officially open in Decatur at Heritage Behavioral Health Center.

Organizers say the remodeled Behavioral Health Urgent Care Hub is designed to care for those experiencing a crisis or urgent behavioral health needs. "The enhanced facility will improve access to timely mental health care and create a welcoming environment for individuals and families in need of urgent support."

In the past, the only option for those experiencing crisis was an emergency room.

Along with this newly remodeled hub, the center offers "The Living Room" spaces to improve access to timely mental health care. Organizers say, "This therapeutic area is designed to offer individuals a calming and supportive environment, creating a relaxed atmosphere where individuals can access professional help."

Heritage Behavioral Health Center offers mental health, substance abuse, and primary care services.
