DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Decatur is hosting its second annual overdose awareness event Thursday in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day coming up later this month.Â
That event will feature harm reduction supply giveaways with tools like Narcan and fentanyl test strips.Â
There will also be a remembrance session held in memory of those who lost their lives to addiction.Â
The event will be held from 3-6 p.m. at Fairview Park's main pavilion and is open to the public.Â
The United States loses on average 130 people per day to overdoses.Â
