MT. MORRIS, Ill. (WAND) - One person is dead after a plane crashed in northern Illinois Tuesday. 

The small plane crashed into a field just southeast of Mt. Morris. 

WREX reports the pilot in the crop duster died. The pilot was the only person in the plane. 

The crash happened outside of the Ogle County Airport along Illinois Rt. 64 around 9:30 a.m.

Illinois Rt. 64 between Mt. Morris and Oregon was shut down.
