Person killed in Hammond house fire

HAMMOND, Ill. (WAND) - A person was killed in a house fire in Hammond Monday. 

The Piatt County Coroner's Office confirmed the death and said the case is being investigated by the Illinois State Fire Marshall, the Piatt County Sheriff’s Department and the Piatt County Coroner’s Office. 

Emergency responders were called out to the 200 block of W. Lake Street at about 5:08 p.m. 

WAND News spoke with the Piatt County Sheriff's Office, but they said no other information is being released at this time.
