DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - Pivot Energy has received site approval for two new solar projects on private land in Douglas County. 

The company says the project will have a combined 10 megawatt capacity, meaning they generate enough electricity to power nearly 2,400 homes. 

Pivot said it plans to invest nearly $50,000 into local nonprofits as well as pay nearly $450,000 in local property taxes over the next 20 years. 

Construction will start next year.
