Milmine, IL- The decision to shut down Milmine's post office could be made in two weeks.

The former post master there, Mary Mann, says they've had an office since 1862, and it's always been an important part of their community.

Some people who live there say they're worried it will be difficult to send and pick up their mail if it closes, especially for the elderly, who can't always travel to the nearest town.

Residents like Joshua Swaim say the office means a lot to the community.

"The post office has been here since Milmine has been here... for it just to close down now, it just breaks my heart," Swaim said.

A decision is expected to be made by July 19th.
