CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Several people have been displaced following an early morning apartment complex fire in Champaign Friday.Â
The Champaign Fire Department was called to 2614 W. Springfield Ave. at 4:18 a.m., the News Gazette reports.Â
The fire started on the third floor of one of the buildings at Countrybrook Apartments.Â
Additional crews responded due to fire coming from the roof. Smoke and fire were coming from the back as well.Â
Firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading and extinguish it.Â
The cause is under investigation.Â
