Scammers posing as police, threatening arrests

PEORIA, Ill. (WAND) – A health care company says scammers pretending to work for them are demanding money.

OSF HealthCare says it has seen reports of calls that show an OSF HealthCare caller ID, in which the caller wants bank account and personal information. They say patients and caregivers have been on the receiving end of those calls.

The company is asking people to hang up if they take a call fitting that description. People can also call an OSF location back directly and talk to an operator if they’re concerned the call might be real.

OSF is also advising people to report scam calls to police.
