Oakland schools delay release of students due to funnel clouds
OAKLAND, Ill. (WAND) - Oakland CUSD#5 has delayed the release of its students for the end of the day due to severe weather.
The school district posted to social media Tuesday afternoon, due to a funnel cloud being spotted near the school, school officials notified Oakland PD and had students and staff take cover in the building.
Buses were delayed leaving for about 15-20 minutes to make sure that the storm had cleared the area.
