SPRINGFIELD - City Water, Light and Power officials say needed repairs will result in a detour and lane reductions on portions of Ninth Street and Carpenter Street beginning July 11.
CWLP crews will work to repair a broken water valve, resulting in east-bound Carpenter Street, between 8th and 9th Streets, being detoured. Additionally, 9th Street between Miller and Carpenter Streets will see on southbound lane being closed.
The closure and detour will remain in place until repairs and road surface work is complete. Motorists are urged to plan to use alternative routes, and to slow down and be aware of crews and equipment in and near the roadway.
