Kurt Younghouse

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Longtime educator and member of the Decatur community Kurt Younghouse announced his run for Macon County Clerk. 

Younghouse is a 17-year resident of Decatur and local coach announced his candidacy in June. He will run in the Republican primary in March 2026 for an opportunity to win the November 2026 general election.

His platform is focused on fiscal responsibility, finding innovative ways to lower property taxes, and promoting voter integrity.

"I am confident that together, we can build a brighter future for Macon County," Younghouse added. "I invite everyone to join me in this campaign and work towards a better tomorrow."

Younghouse began serving Macon County four years ago when he was nominated to the Sanitary District of Decatur Board. He has spent over 17 years as a coach at Unity Christian High School. 

Younghouse will run against Republican candidate Marsha Webb, and Democratic candidate Bryan E. Smith.
