DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - On Wednesday, Governor JB Pritzker joined TCCI Manufacturing to announce the grand opening of its Clean Energy Innovation Hub. TCCI is the first recipient of the state’s groundbreaking Reimagining Energy and Vehicles in Illinois (REV Illinois) incentive program.

The $45 million project resulted in a state of the art facility that will strengthen the North American supply chain; critical electrical vehicle (EV) components will be manufactured on American soil.

""We are building an entire ecosystem of growth and opportunity that will span generations, from workforce development to innovation to manufacturing expansion. We are building the engine of opportunity, and that starts with strategic projects like the Clean Energy Innovation Hub." Pritzker said.

The Innovation Hub includes TCCI’s EV compressor production line, the Clean Energy Workforce Academy, and the Climatic Center for Innovation & Research.

The Clean Energy Workforce Academy is a collaboration with Richland Community College where students can get an immersive experience in TTCI's facility. It also allows TCCI to to upskill and reskill Illinois’ workforce in a curriculum focused on computer science, engineering, and advanced technology. Students will gain hands-on training in natural refrigerants, sustainable HVAC solutions, and clean energy systems, along with direct experience in refrigerant system validation. Classes at the Academy will start in the fall.

TCCI’s Climatic Center for Innovation & Research (CCIR) is a cutting-edge research and development facility with robust climatic testing capabilities that will open in 2026. It will be among the most advanced facilities in the country dedicated to next-generation thermal management systems and natural refrigerant technologies for EVs.

The Illinois EPA also awarded a $650,000 matching grant for the expansion of TCCI's CCIR.
