An innocent man allegedly dies at the hands of a group of teenagers, aand Decatur Police detectives say it was all a part of a twisted game called "Point Em' Out Knock Em' Out."
Investigators say in August a group of five teens believed to be caught on surveillance video randomly attacked 61-year-old Jerry Newingham while he rode his bike home from work. Newingham later died from head injuries on September 5th.
15-year-old Branden White and 16-year-olds Elliot Murphy, Malcolm Spence, and twins Fredrick and Dedrick Rhone are now all charged as adults with 4-counts of First Degree Murder, aggravated battery, robbery, and two counts of mob action. The teens will also be charged as adults for another beating that happened at Garfield Park that same day.
The Macon County State's Attorney says a 14-year-old who also participated in the attack may also be charged as an adult.
