(WAND) — Residents across central Illinois are reporting power interruptions due to today's severe weather.

Springfield's City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) has three outages areas as of Tuesday afternoon.

  • Over 600 customers in an area from E. Cook St. to E. Ash St. between Taylor Ave. and S. 12th St. approximately due to a tree falling on a power pole at Wheeler Avenue and Kansas Street.
  • Over 1,200 customers in an area serving an area along Greenbriar Dr. to areas along W. Iles Ave between Archer Elevator Rd. and W. White Oaks Drive.
  • Over 850 customers in an area from S. Grand Ave. to W. Ash St. between S. Douglas Ave. and S. College St. approximately, along with a section of S. Whittier Ave. and S. Lowell Ave. to the south to W. Lenox Ave.

Ameren is reporting a few outages in the northern half of our viewing area. Ameren customers can check outages at https://outagemap.ameren.com.
