DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Strong storms knocked out power to thousands of customers across Central Illinois Monday morning. 

As of 12:30 p.m. Monday, Poweroutage.com reported around 1,200 customers without power in Sangamon County and 800 without power in Macoupin County. Champaign County had more than 2,200 customers without power.

At it's peak, outages earlier Monday in those counties was over 7,500. 

Smaller outages also hit several towns across Central Illinois, including places in Christian, Macon, Coles, Champaign, and Moultrie counties.

A line of strong and severe storms moved through the area Monday morning, at times with wind gusts over 50 miles per hour, hail, and heavy rain. 

Severe weather was forecasted for Monday with risks for several types of weather, including: hail, strong winds, and tornadoes.
