DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The Three Kings of Peace began their Summer Mentorship Program in hopes of keeping children safe and out of trouble during the summer.

But with the recent strings of vandalism at their buildings, they're changing locations however, the message will remain the same.

"They just vandalized the place; broke glass and bottles and broke out windows and stuff like that. It kind of set us back a little bit, it's going to cost extra money." said one of three kings, Edward Butler.

Butler explained that although last summer's program was successful, there's still more work to be done.

"The kids are doing the same thing. They're being negative, want to get out shooting and fighting and domestic violence and everything so that has not changed. So why should we change our methods? So we just have to beef up the opportunity to try to reach them." said Butler.

Applications for the camp are now open. To apply, call or text Butler at 217-920-2825.
