CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Illinois men's basketball returned to the State Farm Center Sunday for a Big 10 matchup against Ohio State.Â
After a loss to Nebraska Thursday night a big question heading into Sunday was what changes was Brad Underwood going to make.Â
One of the changes Tomislav Ivisic returned to the starting lineup after missing three games and Dra Gibbs-Lawhorn got his first start with Kylan Boswell and Ben Humrichous coming off the bench against the Buckeyes.Â
In his first game back since the Michigan State game Ivisic finished the day with a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
One thing that did stay the same was Freshman Morez Johnson Jr. getting the start. He would stay hot scoring a double-double in the first half and finishing the day with 14 points and 15 rebounds.Â
Ohio State would take a 42-36 lead into the half and come out in the second half hot to go up 10 quickly.
But Illinois would fight all the way back lead by Gibb-Lawhorn who finished the day with 10 points, two rebounds and one steal in his first college career start.Â
And the Illini would go on a 15-0 run late in the second half while the Buckeyes went scoreless for 5 minutes, where Freshman Will Riley would lead the way. Riley would finish a team high 24 points coming off the bench.Â
Illinois would come from down 10 to defeat Ohio State 87-79.Â
They are back in action Wednesday night when they travel to Rutgers.Â
