DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) -- Two Danville men were arrested and facing illegal firearm charges after a traffic stop Friday night.Â
Danville Police said, around 9 p.m., members of the Danville Police Department Problem-Oriented Policing Unit stopped a vehicle for a moving violation near the area of Gilbert and Williams streets.
During the stop, officers witnessed a firearm in the vehicle. Police said neither man inside the vehicle, two 19-year-olds, could legally possess a firearm.
Both men were arrested and taken to the Vermilion County Public Safety Building for processing.
One suspect was on probation in Vermilion County and booked on the charge of unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
The other was booked on the charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
