JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND)- Two individuals were found dead during a police investigation Wednesday morning in Jacksonville.
Jacksonville PD said at approximately 7:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of S. East Street for a subject who was unresponsive.
According to police, they located an unresponsive individual with serious injuries. The person was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators than began looking into the matter as a suspicious death.
The investigation led officers to a separate residence in the 1200 block of S. East Street where a second individual was found dead.
The matter is still being investigated and is on-going. At this time, police believe this to be an isolated incident.
The identities of the deceased subjects are being withheld until family members have been notified.
The investigation is being handled by the Jacksonville Police, the Illinois State Police, the Morgan County Coroner, and the Morgan County State’s Attorney.
Assistance is also being provided by the South Jacksonville Police and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
