CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — Champaign Police are investigating two shootings with injuries.

The first happened around 1:20 a.m. Saturday near the Main Street and Fremont Street.

Police were in the area and heard gunshots and went towards the sound.

Officers found a 42 year old female from Rantoul who had been shot in the leg. Officers helped give medical aid and the woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. 

Police say, an unknown man shot the woman and then left the area. 

More than an hour later, police were called to the a fire station in the 700 block of W. Bradley Avenue after a vehicle arrived with two people who had been shot.

Police say, a 16 year old male from Champaign and a 18 year old female from Dewey were shot multiple times in the torso. 

After an investigation, officers learned the two teens were driving west on Colleen Drive when someone approached the vehicle and fired multiple shots hiting the teens inside the vehicle.

The teens drove away and stopped at the fire station to get medical aid.
