(WAND) - Central Illinois will enjoy a couple of very warm February days.

Highs today will reach the upper-50s with winds approaching 40 miles-per-hour and it'll be breezy and even warmer Friday with highs in the low-to-mid-60s!

Isolated showers are possible this afternoon and evening, but the better chances of rain will be across northern Illinois where some of the storms could become strong to severe.

temp trend
After the very warm Friday, we'll see a better chance of showers and maybe even a rumble of thunder Friday night and early Saturday as a cold front moves through the area.

It'll be breezy and cooler this weekend with highs in the upper-40s Saturday and low-to-mid-40s Sunday.

By Monday, a weather system passing to our south may graze the area with a wintry mix of rain and snow.
