The ongoing drought means weeks of lake levels dropping across central Illinois, but the recent rain has been good news.

With lake levels low in Lake Decatur, the city of Decatur is offering cleanup assistance for anyone with lakeside properties.

Every county in central Illinois is dealing with some level of drought. Many counties around Champaign are dealing with extreme drought conditions. 

It's been two years since a piece of the Decatur 9/11 memorial went missing. The Decatur Park District believed it had been thrown in Lake Decatur, but they were never able to find it. 

Lake Decatur is currently four feet below normal levels, but there is hope the dry weather will end in the next two to three months.

Dozens of Decatur residents gathered during a community forum Monday night to express their concerns over the city's 99-year easement with ADM.

The Illinois People's Action called on Decatur to reconsider its easement allowing ADM to inject CO2 under Lake Decatur.
