Congress is sending President Donald Trump a bill to compel the Justice Department to make public its case files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Once the bill is signed by the president, it sets a 30-day countdown for the Justice Department to produce what’s commonly known as the Epstein files. That includes everything the Justice Department has collected over multiple federal investigations into Epstein and his longtime confidante and girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell. It will also compel the Justice Department to produce all its internal communications on Epstein and his associates and his 2019 death in a Manhattan jail.

The president signed the order after announcing framework agreements with Argentina, Ecuador, El Salvador and Guatemala that are designed to ease import levies on agricultural products from those countries.

President Donald Trump has pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. The billionaire commonly known as CZ created the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. He pled guilty in 2023 to enabling money laundering. Zhao served prison time for failing to stop criminals from using the platform to move money connected to child sex abuse, drug trafficking and terrorism. His pardoning is the latest example of Trump flexing his executive power to bestow clemency on political allies, prominent public figures and others. Zhao and Binance have been key supporters of some of the Trump family’s crypto enterprises.
North Carolina lawmakers have given final approval to a new U.S. House map backed by President Donald Trump. The map adopted Wednesday could help Republicans win an additional seat by reshaping a swing district currently held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Don Davis. The previous map already helped the GOP win 10 of the 14 House districts in North Carolina, which Trump won with 51% of the vote last year. North Carolina is the latest state to join Trump’s mid-decade redistricting push to avoid losing control of Congress. Texas and Missouri lawmakers already redrew their maps, and California lawmakers countered by asking voters to approve a map to help Democrats.
