CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - For the second time in a week and half, Illinois took care of business against the last place team in the Big Ten.
The Illini won their fifth straight, beating their in-state rival Northwestern 73-60 at the State Farm Center Thursday night.
Northwestern (7-14, 0-10) still have not won a game in conference play.
Poor shooting from the Illini in the second-half however did keep the Wildcats within nine points with two minutes remaining.
After shooting 64 percent in the first half, the Illini shot just 24% in the second half.
Genesis Bryant led Illinois with 20 points. Kendall Bostic flirted with a double-double posting 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Freshman Berry Wallace also added 14 points.
