(WAND) - Illinois safety Miles Scott is staying in the blue and orange after the Denver Broncos took him with the No. 246 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Scott is the third Illinois player taken in this year's draft, after Gabe Jacas to the New England Patriots and J.C. Davis to the New York Giants.

According to the Broncos' team website, Scott earned honorable All-Big Ten honors during the 2025 season.

He will join veterans Talanoa Hufanga and Brandon Jones on a stout Denver defense, which ranked among the NFL's elite, en route to a surprise AFC Championship appearance.
