(WAND) - Illinois football's first commitment to their 2027 class is a national target at quarterback.
Kamden Lopati from West Valley City, Utah, is a 4-star recruit and announced he is ready to join the Illini following his high school graduation in two years.

According to 247sports, he threw for 3,050 yards, rushed for 647 yards, and scored 28 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Before the official announcement was made, Illini head coach Bret Bielema teased the decision, expressing his excitement for the years to come.
