TOLONO, Ill. (WAND) -- A familiar face is taking of the reins of Unity high school football.Â
Earlier this year Tony Reetz officially took over as head coach after Scott Hamilton retired last season.
Reetz is not stranger to Rockets football though after serving as an assistant coach for 21 years, so taking over the program he is ready to keep the integrity of what Unity football is all about.Â
The Rockets enter this season coming off a heartbreaking loss to Monticello in the sectional semifinals.Â
But this year they are returning a lot of key players with a lot of playing time like senior quarterback Dane Eisenmenger and running back Crewe Eckstein.Â
During the summer aside from workouts and 7on7's Unity also had a couple crossover practices with Mahomet-Seymour and Carterville.Â
Unity opens up their 2025 season at home against Rantoul on Friday August 29.
