DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - We've been under a hot and dry spell for the last several days in central Illinois, and with astronomical fall only 6 days away, you may be wondering when we can expect cooler air.
Today will be no different, highs are in the low 90s again, and skies will be mostly clear and sunny. Overnight lows have been cooling into the low 60s and upper 50s in the last two nights, and that remains the same tonight as well.
Rain is on the way this weekend, but the more significant rainfall arrives closer to the start of next week. Thus, the cool down can be expected by the time Sunday and Monday roll around. We'll be looking at temperatures in the mid to low 80s and showers well into the midweek.

Rain totals will likely stay below 1 inch, and most of it will fall between Sunday and Tuesday.
