DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Wednesday! Temperatures are starting mild in the upper 50s and 60s this morning. It will be another day of mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures in the upper 70s. Winds will be slightly calmer with gusts around 25 mph out of the southwest for the afternoon. It should be a very comfortable day overall.

Thursday will be warm with high temperatures pushing into the 80s by the afternoon. An approaching system will bring some storm chances overnight into early Friday morning. The severe weather risk will be low, with some strong and isolated storms moving through the region. There is a marginal (level 1 of 5) risk for severe storms for most of Central Illinois on Friday morning. Wind gusts will be the biggest threat with these storms.

The weekend is looking fantastic. Temperatures will be mild with highs in the low 70s and plenty of sunshine. Winds will pick up Sunday into Monday as another system moves into the Midwest. This could bring cooler conditions for early next week.
