A wet start to Easter weekend

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Saturday! We start the weekend with heavy rain this morning as a cold front continues its sweep across the region. This rain will be relatively low-impact. Chances for thunder are low, and as we head past midday, showers become lighter and scattered before tapering off this evening.

The cold front also ushers in cooler air throughout the day today. We peaked at our high in the 60s earlier this morning, and as rain continues, we dip into the 50s this afternoon. As skies clear out overnight, lows will drop into the 30s for many.

We head into Easter Sunday breezy, sunny, and with continued milder temperatures in the 50s. This sunshine continues through the start of the work week, and warmer temperatures return by the end of the week ahead of our next weather maker.
