DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A Mother Nature nap. A tranquility cameo. Break in the wind. Call it what you will, but the wind will finally let up tonight through Thursday. That won't remain the case for long.

A clipper approaching from the northwest Thursday night into early Friday morning will blanket the ground with snow, creating slippery travel. Gusty winds associated with said clipper will become commonplace once again. Most gusts will be 20-30 mph, but a few peak gusts can exceed 30 mph.

Another dose of frigid weather will follow this clipper. Single-digit temps return for the first time since Dec. 15.

Brrrrrr!

Stay warm and stay weather-aware.
