DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The National Weather Service in Lincoln issued a Snow Squall Warning for parts of Central Illinois on Wednesday.Â
The warning has since expired.
Parts of Macon, Champaign, McClean, Vermilion, DeWitt, and Piatt counties were under the warning. NWS said the squall could cause bursts of heavy snow along with gusty winds.Â

The combination, according to NWS, could make travel difficult. The agency said dangerous and life-threatening travel were expected in the warning area.Â
NWS said wind gusts could top 50 miles per hour. Â
As of 10:15 a.m., when the warning was allowed to expire, there were no reports of major accidents or problems.
At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, NWS said a snow squall was located near Remington and Heyworth and moved towards the southeast at 40 miles per hour.Â
The WAND Weather team is forecasting cold air moving into the area Wednesday with gusty winds and temperatures int he 30's.Â
