DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A back-to-back aurora sighting? Why not?! The second of two large geomagnetic storms is currently cruising through Earth's magnetic field. As these charged particles interact with different gases, we get to see different colors. See yesterday evening's weather blog for a more detailed explanation.

Despite the weather not being as cold as last evening, some high clouds can take a little away from the northern lights. This latest geomagnetic storm will also be on the wane as midnight approaches, so it's best to try and view early despite some of those high clouds.

Warmer weather is back tomorrow. Enjoy!
