DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - No surprise Wednesday turned out much colder than Tuesday. Below freezing temperatures return for the first time in a little over a week. However, this isn't the real cold air from the Northwest Territories yet. Â
After a chilly start to Thursday, mild March weather will take hold for a few days. A larger storm arriving later this weekend will put a quick end to that. Although we don't anticipate record low temperatures, which hover in the single digits (plus and minus), feelslike temperatures will get there early next week. Heck, we'll even see some snow showers on the tail end of this weekend's storm. Â
So, if you're headed to any St Patrick's Day festivities on Saturday, you'll be fine, minus the chilly wind. Umbrellas are a good call for part two of this weekend with winter coats shortly thereafter.Â
Stay safe, stay warm and stay weather-aware.
