A chance for an isolated thunderstorm or two returns today for the first time in several days, although many of us will stay mainly dry.

This rain would be welcomed due to the expanding drought acoss centrall Illinois, however, with rain totals only expected to top off at a 1/4 inch, we likely won't see any significant improvements. Otherwise, we can expect a few strong gusty winds wherever strong thunderstorms roll through. Overall impacts will be low today.

Temperatures will also be a headline today and for the rest of the weekend with highs in the low 90s. Those who don't see rain will be mostly sunny and clear into the evening.
