DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Happy Sunday! Central Illinois is being treated to the perfect forecast for your Sunday reset and start to the week. Air quality has gradually improved over the last 24 hours, and it will continue to improve today. We are sitting at a moderate level on the Air Quality Index. Only those who are unusually sensitive to polluting particulates should need to be concerned. Otherwise, we're setting up for a great day to get outside.
High pressure remains in control today, keeping us mainly sunny and dry all day. Temperatures will be a bit warmer today with highs peaking around 80 degrees. We'll still be clear this evening, but overnight, a weak disturbance will bring more cloud cover. This will keep lows tonight in the low 60s.Â
Our start to the work week will be mostly cloudy, and a few spotty showers will return by the afternoon or evening. A warm-up is on the way for Central Illinois, and by the end of the week, we'll be back to leaning above average for high temperatures.Â
