Temperatures will soar with the sunshine

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Thursday! Temperatures soared yesterday afternoon into the upper 50s with plenty of sunshine. Today will be even warmer as southerly winds pump in hot air from the south. The day will start with partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in the 30s and 40s. The sunny skies will take over through the morning, and temperatures will rise into the 60s and low 70s by the afternoon.

The rest of the week and weekend will follow a very similar pattern. Temperatures overnight will continue to be mild in the upper 40s and low 50s. Afternoon high temperatures will be very warm in the mid to upper 70s through Sunday afternoon.

The next change in the forecast won’t arrive until Sunday night as a cold front drops in the north. This will bring back cooler temperatures in the 50s for the start of next week. Those numbers are much closer to average for this time of year.
